A Page Right Out Of Surfing (And Movie) History – Surfboards By Phil

In 1961 Phil Sauers opened Inland Surf Shop on the corner of Firestone and Lakewood Blvd in Downey CA..He would soon go on to put his personal stamp on 1960’s Surf Culture via the silver screen.  His surfboards and clothing line were featured in some of the largest surf films of the era.

Surboards by Phil became known as “Surfboards To The Stars” as noted in Surfguide Magazine’s 1964 October Issue…

Revived this year by Phil, His son David, Master Shaper Matt Bettis and Head Glasser/  Aloha Owner Steve Albin  – We turn back to a page in the book of surf history.. Here’s a shot of  #0001 –

This Particular board is going to auction at Christie’s as part of an sale featuring items of  popular culture: Film and Entertainment Memorabilia.  However, you can come down or call to order your own piece of surf movie history right here at Aloha and get a great board at a modest price. We are proud to be the exclusive makers of Surfboards By Phil!
